Study Abroad

January 2007

Day 2

London: The two flights to London arrived very early this morning, giving students plenty of time to familiarize themselves with the hotel and the surrounding area before the first mandatory class activity: the Tube Test. Professors walked their students through using the "Tube" (London's subway/underground system) and London buses, and then left their classes at a major landmark to find their own way home. Forcing students to get up and walk around also helped to minimize napping this afternoon. We were all exhausted, but were warned that if we sleep all afternoon, we wouldn't be able to sleep at night. The Graphic Design class solved this dilemma by going to the Ballet tonight to see one of the last performances of Alice in Wonderland at the Coliseum Theatre, though there was some napping during the performance, despite our best efforts to stay awake.

Paris: After a long journey, Bradley University Study Abroad students have safely arrived in Paris! We are now situated in the Hotel Claude Bernard, located in the heart of old town Paris. With good weather, we began our first full day together as a group on a guided bus tour of Paris. With the tour, we were able to view famous Paris landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumph and Notre Dame. After a quick lunch, we met as individual classes to discuss future plans for the week. So far so good!!
