Day 6
Paris: Today we awoke to a much different view of Paris. For the first time since landing the overcast clouds were gone and instead we saw the sun! The good weather helped to make all the day's events more enjoyable. After breakfast, each class headed out on its separate way. Dr. Brown and the Revolution class headed to the Historical Museum of Paris to take in artifacts and art related to the Revolution era. Dr. Carlson and the Art classes headed to the famous Musee d'Orsay to examine and view their extensive collections of French artwork. The highlight of the day for Dr. Hertich and his class was the chance to take in a concert and tour inside the famous Notre Dame Cathedral.
The work continues here in Paris as students headed out through the city to complete their various class assignments. Revolution students headed out for a walking tour that encompassed monuments, churches and a royal palace from the Revolution era. Art students were able to take in the Centre Pompidou, a collection of French modern and contemporary art, while Dr. Hertich and the French class headed out to the Museum of the Middle Ages
We are quickly learning the preferred method of transportation in Paris...walking! This is the best way to see and take in the sights and sounds of Paris. Each day we find our way through the city, occasionally getting lost but discovering a new world at the same time!
