Day 3
London: Rain, rain, go away; come again another day. It was another cold and rainy day here in London, but it didn’t matter much because both English classes headed off to the British Museum to see its treasures. The new exhibit in the museum features watercolor paintings by John White and depictions of the native people when colonists first arrived in the area now called Virginia. After the museum, the students had a day of exploring and wandering about the city. ~Emily
Vienna: The day began with a wonderful guided bus tour with our guide Sylvia through the streets of Vienna. Our first stop was at the Hundertwasser Haus, an amazing yet controversial block of subsidized apartments, designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. After marveling at its bizarre design, it was time for some shopping. Next stop was the former summer residence of the Imperial family: Schönbrunn Palace. After a tour through the elaborate interior, our group was free to explore the expansive grounds of the palace, which includes a rose garden, a greenhouse, a maze, a zoo, and the famous Neptune Fountain. ~Maddy
