Day 6
London: The weather couldn’t make up its mind today. It changed from rainy and cold to sunny and beautiful as the day went on but after being here for almost a week we have come to expect that. One group headed out to Westminster Abbey, where we saw the final resting place of kings and queens, poets, and other people of importance. The building is huge and the many monuments there are astounding. The day ended well with a lovely dinner at a local restaurant. The London theatre scene drew in a few students who went to see Stomp. ~Emily
Vienna: We were set free after our morning classes to explore the city on our own. A group traveled the the Belvedere Palace to visit the art museum. It holds one of Vienna's most famous paintings "the Kiss". Others sampled the shops and cafés of the city's busy streets. We finished the night with an enlightening group meeting with the English majors of the University of Vienna. We discussed Austrian and American culture and what it means to be an American. ~Maddy
