Day 8
Vienna: It was another beautiful day to explore the Vienna streets after our daily class sessions. Whether its touring, shopping, or sitting in a café, the Bradley students always know how to have a good time. Some students spent their time strolling the Mariahilfer Strasse shopping center. For some, it was a return to the Belvedere Palace and its amazing zoo. During the night, a group attending the annual Lange Nacht der Kirchen: night of music. Every Cathedral in the city is alive with music and people from around the world. The remarkable Stephansdom Cathedral was illuminated as the choirs and orchestras played through the night. It only happens once a year, but it was a once in a life time experience. ~Maddy
London: Today was all about what we wanted to do whether that was outside London or around the city because it was our first day off. Many people were adventurous and went outside the country to Paris. Another group went to Windsor Castle and then some just stayed in the hotel and slept. But didn’t matter what the Bradley students did it was fun and it was nice to set our own day agenda. ~Emily
Dublin: Because of the Irish values and culture, the purpose and style of restaurants in Dublin differ from those in America. After dining in Dublin, I found that restaurants are social spots to spend time with firends. Not receiving a check for one's meal quickly would be considered poor service in America, but the Irish would consider it a generous gift of time spent with friends. ~Beth
Friday was our last class day before independent travel day commenced. Many students had plans to leave the island for Paris and London. Other stuidents travelled to Galway and Belfast. Getting around Europe is a breeze compared to the U.S. The Euro does have its downfall, being almost 1:2 American dollars. Upon returning, students related their travels and shared experiences over breakfast. More and more, we are becoming familiar with the city and with familiarity, independence has been the reward. For some of us, maps are no longer a necessity and instinct has come to rule. ~Will
